Every Second Counts

I don’t know if you’ve ever seen a show on Disney or Hulu called The Bear? One of the premises of that show is every second counts.
And it’s like, really?
Does every second really count?
Yeah. It does.

I’m thinking about today, in fact, most days, I carve out some time where I make sales calls. And it’s not like, do you wanna buy something? These are nurture calls that keep me in touch with clients or potential clients that I’m interested in working with and vice versa, and we’re developing that relationship.

A few months ago, there was a Government grant that was very beneficial to business owners. And, unfortunately, it’s finished now. Anyhow, I had a list of people that I wanted to work with – which we did. But I also had a list of people that I’ve worked with in the past that I thought would be good for. And here’s a confession. I rehearsed in my brain multiple times how I might approach those people to tell them about the grant and to tell them how it might work for them and tell them how I could help.

Most of those calls I rehearsed / role played. But, I never actually got around to calling. And now the grant’s finished. Does that mean I can help them without the grant? Of course I can. But if I was living up to every second counts, I wouldn’t have just rehearsed those calls.

I would have made those calls. And I probably left multiple 6 figures on the table for now by not doing that.

So let me tell you, when you get that gut feeling, it’s like, oh, I could help her or I could help them or he’s been on my mind for a while. I should call him. Rather than just rehearsing in your brain what that call might look like, which is a good idea.
Role playing is a great skill.
Every second counts.

If you don’t speak to them, they won’t do business with you. You can manifest all you like to the universe for business to come in, and it will, but specifics count. So specifically, if someone’s in your brain, in your heart, in your gut that you need to speak to, for sure, role play the conversation, but pick up the freaking phone!
